Customer Success Stories

We love hearing from our customers how much they love Tegtmeier Polled Herefords!

We’d love to hear from YOU!

Our replacement heifers have generations of Tegtmeier genetics in their bloodlines.

Satisfaction in the Flint Hills

We operate a cow/calf herd that raises all our own replacement heifers. We have been buying Tegtmeier Hereford bulls for 20 years. We utilize the benefits of crossbreeding with Black Angus bulls on some of our Hereford cows. A majority of our black baldy heifers are sold at a premium as replacements.

We have noticed increased weaning and yearling weights over the past five years. We have noticed increased milk production in our raised females over the past ten years.

Our Hereford replacement females have all the qualities of a profitable cow: fertility, excellent milk production and docility.

Tegtmeier bulls sire calves that are feed efficient with extra growth and performance.

Gentle Genetics

The cow shown in the herd with the blue 7E tag is CT Miss Amy, the top selling heifer in the Tegtmeier sale in 2018. She is in many of the pictures posted on the Tegetmeier social media posts and website. Russ was pretty proud of her and we are too!

The Larsen Herd

Grand Champion Bucket Calf

This is Chace Larsen’s third year in 4-H and his third year with beef projects. The little Hereford backed by Tegtmeier Polled Hereford genetics is called “Knockout.” And she surely lived up to her name. Chace and Knockout won the Grand Champion Bucket Calf contest at the county fair in Beatrice, NE. What a great bucket calf project for him!

Staying Power

Some of the calves seen in the video are out of CT Lucky 68G. This herd ranges from 3-10 years of age. We have had great success with our Tegetmeier genetics cattle!

“I run Hereford cows and use an Angus bull. I sell all of my females, so have to purchase more females every year. I get most of my females from Russ Tegtmeier because I get very good results with the Tegtmeier breeding stock. They have been in business a long time and they definitely stand behind their stock and are good people to do business with.”

Howard Beethe - Tecumseh, NE

This long time customer, along with his father and uncle have purchased breeding stock for many years.

The Bishops & Their Hereford Babies

In Love with Gentle Tegtmeier Heifers

“We are just starting to turn over to all Hereford from Angus. And, while doing this, we chose Tegtmeier Hereford genetics. The cattle are calm, have good dispositions and are easy to be around. The Tegtmeier family’s years of experience in breeding polled Hereford genetics has built for them a reputation unequaled for quality. We absolutely love our heifers!”

No Matter the Weather

“I purchased six bulls from the Tegtmeiers… Despite our horrendous drought conditions, the bulls kept their condition, and got everything bred during the first and second heat cycles. The calves have come easy…, and have the look to them as baby calves to be market topping baldies… We are extremely pleased, and will be back to purchase more bulls in the future.”

Ed Wesner - Reydon, OK

30 Years & Counting

“We are the second generation to utilize Tegtmeier genetics in our herd. Ron’s dad, Cliff, purchased Tegtmeier bulls for 30 years and Regan’s dad, Dick Reinhardt, was a repeat buyer for 30 years. Tegtmeier bulls sire calves with growth and performance. In addition, the daughters in our herd are solid producers. The calves in these pictures are proof that Tegtmeier genetics have consistently produced replacement quality heifers and efficient market steers.”
